GARY GREEN

Residence: Canberra, ACT.

Term of Office: Director since December 2010. Deputy Chairman from March 2006 to December 2007. Chairman of Community CPS from December 2007 to December 2010. Chairman of CPS Credit Union Co-operative (ACT) Limited (‘CPS ACT’) prior to its merger with CPS Credit Union (SA) Ltd (CPS SA).

Skills, experience and expertise: Gary was elected Chairman of the CPS ACT Board in November 2001.  Upon the merger of CPS ACT with CPS SA Gary was appointed Deputy Chairman of Community CPS.  He has been a member of CPS ACT for over 22 years and joined the CPS ACT Board in 1990.

Gary is a marketing, communications and IT specialist with many years of CEO experience. His business career includes over 20 years in radio, newspaper and television industries in Australia and England. He established Green Advertising in 1980, which grew to be one of the largest advertising agencies in the ACT before being sold to Adcorp Australia Ltd in 2002. He is an executive director of the Mac1 group, which he founded in 1987; it has grown to become the third largest Apple Reseller group in Australia with stores in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Bendigo, Armidale, Newcastle and Wollongong. He has sold his interests in the group, except for an ownership interest in a Canberra Centre store, to focus on the development of Community CPS Australia and his investment portfolio.

Gary is a Fellow of the Australasian Mutuals Institute, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has been a Company Director since 1984.

Membership of Community CPS Australia Limited Board Committees and Committees Established by the Board:  Member of the Board Governance Committee and Board Audit and Finance Committee.

Other interests: Gary’s latest passion is aviation and he flies regularly along the South Coast of NSW, from Moruya, in his Airborne XT 912.  He was also the founding president of SnowPlough Ski Club in Jindabyne.  Gary is married to Tanja and has three children.
